Top Authors prefer to avoid Jewelbeat as it sells very cheap. Deal with Jewelbeat if you're Ok with the quality it provides.
For premium quality music and audio I'd suggest to visit LuckStock.com as the prices at this stock are reasonable for the quality the marketplace provides.

has anyone here used Jewelbeat before?

So my youtube channel just got approved for monetization. Most of the videos are interviews and game highlights. With that being said, I am looking to find free royalty free music that can be used on youtube that wont affect monetization.

I have used the garage band stuff but don't want to overuse it. Once is enough.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Can we clear something up with this Free Music. Many members believe you can just download the music and stick it into your video.
Yes,...........if it is used for household viewing. (That is the best way i can put it)
No....... if it is for commercial use as you need license agreement of music.
If you make money out of video then you need to pay if using music from other sources.
I think most people understand all this.;)

I'm an artist manager, and most artists in my roster made their material free to use

You can use their material for your Youtube channels as long as you give proper credit to the artist, and as long as you do not modify the song :
Artist - Name of the song
artist facebook page
page where you can access their sounds (Bandcamp, soundcloud etc.)

Example:

http://kognitif.bandcamp.com/
http://jeanduvoyage.bandcamp.com/
http://brokendrop.bandcamp.com/
http://asagaya.bandcamp.com/track/asagaya-the-dead-wind-blues

Archive.org is also a great source of CC material :

For the love of God, AVOID INCOMPETECH. It's so widespread, when you use some songs the majority of your comments are just going to be (paraphrasing here of course) "OMG SOME OTHER MORE POPULAR SCHMUCK USED THIS SONG U STOLE IT!!!!!1111" And it's not going to end up well.

I was told that you can use under 20 seconds of a song without any problems. Anyone have information/thoughts on this?

Nope. Not without problems if your work goes beyond the 'obscure', although the scale and the lack of significance of it might not make it worth going after for the copyright holders. But you never know what goes viral on Youtube, so don't make assumptions.

Here's a better approach when you are on a low budget looking for music: Look up which universities in your area offer a composition program in their music departments, look up the composition teachers, email them if they have an opportunities listing for composers (most do) or just email them what you are looking for and they'll forward it to their students. Many would take such an opportunity to build up line-items on their portfolio and to build working relationships with film makers. And for the learning experience. Maybe barter with them, for example, help them edit some concert footage of theirs in exchange. You might not find the most experienced composers, but you'll find a lot of talent and a wide range of styles.

But please don't expect or even ask musicians to give their music for free 'for the exposure'. It's an insult.

Yeah, I know. You're talking to someone who gets asked to do stuff for 'exposure' all the time. If I do things for free it's because I'm working with friends and we are artists who do what we love, but the 'exposure' angle creeps up from strangers often and I'm generally like, um, no thanks!

I was told all the sounds clips in iMovie and Garage Band are royalty free. Did Youtube started flagging those?

I've used different Apple Garageband loops several times for my YouTube videos and have come to regret it! YouTube has flagged my videos for copyright infringement claims multiple times with all the the claims eventually being dropped. The most troublesome Garageband loop for me is "Delicate Piano" which has been flagged 3 separate times by 3 different claimants listing 3 different music titles as being the original. Even though YouTube's dispute process is simple, it's still a PITA! I now copy and paste the following in the dispute comment window:

"The music is "Delicate Piano", an Apple Computer Garageband music loop. I am the registered owner of the Garageband application, and the music is used as defined in the Apple Computer Garageband license."

In the past when the subject of YouTube copyright claims had been posted on this forum, it was recommended that the music source be listed in the video credit. However, even listing a rightful credit may not shield you from copyright trollers!

Update: My "Delicate Piano" has now been flagged by YouTube for the 4th time! This is a 4th different claimant giving the music a 4th different title! How can one piece of music have so many copyrights?
