Your thread title is a bit misleading, as this only turns off the IR receiver. It doesn't prevent remote access from other methods, such as screen sharing or remote desktop apps.

Mac OS X 10.6: Turning infrared (IR) reception on or off
OS X Lion: Turn infrared (IR) on or off
OS X Mountain Lion: Turn infrared reception on or off
Well, I did say MBP.... I know there are several other Macs out there... that is why I said MBP... to be a little specific.

Though, is this feature in ALL MBPs... at least? or just the 2013 version?

I wasn't referring to the "MBP" part of your title. It's the "stop remote access" that's misleading. It doesn't stop remote access. It only disables the IR receiver, and it works for all Mac models that have an IR receiver. Remote access to your Mac is still possible via the methods I mentioned.

It would be a bit more clear if you said, "Disable the IR receiver on your 2013 MPB" or "Stop the Apple Remote from accessing your 2013 MBP"
