When I go to File on Safari Menu bar and click (New Tab) or (New Window), Safari crashes and closes completely. Of course, it seems to happen only once in a while but I've experienced this issue at least a few times now.
I frequently restart my Mac too.

Thanks very much for the replies. Glad to know that its well known in the Mac Community. I have reported the bug to Apple on bugreporter site.

I do use 1Password but I don't have the extension installed on Safari or any other proxy related issues. thanks for keeping me in the loop.

Me too.

I'm also having this same problem and I do also have 1Password app. It's always when I click for a new tab or window.

This is seriously the most annoying bug ever. And even more so as I do not have 1Password on my computer.

I'm getting this crash also and I don't have 1Password installed on my Mac. I'm switching to Firefox until OS 10.8.1 comes out and Apple hopefully updates Safari with some 'bug fixes'.

My safari freezes when browsing 9gag after around 30 posts.
It never did it on Lion, and neither does google chrome on any OS.
I don't use proxy nor 1password.
Waiting for a mountain lion update, c'mon apple!

Same here

Same here - OS X 10.7.5, Safari Version 6.0.2 (7536.26.17) Crashes about every 10th to 20th time of opening a page in a new window or tab from right-click. No crash report - Safari just disappears as if it were never running. It's been happening for a while - hoped the latest Safari update would fix it, but alas, no.

Update: I reluctantly started deleting extensions, least important first - "reload button". After removing that, the crashes seem to have stopped.

This is a really annoying bug! Is there any solution yet? I actually wonder why Apple hasn't fixed this one by now...

Thanks for this. I use adblock with Safari and it crashes like twice every day. Very annoying.

I was waiting for 10.8.3 to fix this, but if it's caused by adblock... :(

I'm now using Chrome more and more.

It's still worth using adblock and having those crashes if you want to stick with safari.

Have you tried using Webkit instead of Safari? I experienced crash before with Safari (and Adblock). I haven't seen any single crash yet with Webkit (already 3 weeks). I am still at 10.8.2.

I've never had a crash with the Adblock extension on Safari 6. In fact Safari is pretty rock solid for me.
