Having been with BSkyB for 5 years & them having stumped our internet to near dial-up speeds we decided to go fibre-optic.. And we're absolute loving it. We originally went with the 40GB p/m package, but being totally oblivious of how much usage we were actually chugging through a month we were forced to upgrade to unlimited. This whole experience has made me interested in seeing how many of you actually know how much you are using a month.

Quite a decent amount. But this isn't just mine. It's everyone in the household. Then I got about 500MB mobile usage as well...

Netflix, Xbox Live, YouTube, and Rhapsody get used everyday in this household by three people, not including me. So far this month, I have downloaded 1.5GB of music, 4.5GB of iOS apps, 17GB of podcasts, 4.5GB of iTunes U content, 2.5GB of audiobooks, and 19.5GB of YouTube rips. So about 50GB on just this computer. I am going to try and download the rest of my iTunes U content tonight. So might be another 10GB in a bit.

It varies. Some months I can use ~50 GB, other months more than 100. Last month was 74, the previous 99. Unfortunately my ISP's usage meter only shows the three latest months so I'm not sure what my average is, but it's certainly increasing as time goes on (especially since discovering Hulu!) so I'll go for 76+.

Mine varies. There have been months where I have used over 300GB and some where I have used barely 20GB.

On my Nexus 7 Tablet, I have used 2GB in two weeks but that's because I have T-Mobile on it with speeds faster than my DSL so I tend to leave the cellular connection on 24/7.

I believe most ISP's provide usage monitors now, at least BT & Sky do (that's over here in UK though).

Mine doesn't as far as I know. Just webmail. I don't see any other page to check but I'm with a small local ISP that happens to be fiber, fast, and cheap, which doesn't make me sad at all!

Just on my laptop 53.8GB down/9.9GB up since it was rebooted 34 days ago. This doesn't count usage on the phone, ipad, or ps3 either.

Netflix and porn use a lot of bandwidth. :p

I remember butting up against Comcast's 250 gb limit quite often when I was single (lots of HD Netflix and other types of downloads). Probably around 50 gb per month now.

Mine doesn't count the usage for their video site. Which I watch a lot of HD through. I'm just guessing over 76GB a month is used in my house. The official number is about 20GB. But that doesn't include the hours of HD.

Over the last 6 days (when I last rebooted the router) we've used 22GB down & 4GB up.

So:

22gb / 6 days = 3.66 GB a day

3.66 GB * 30 days = 109.8 GB monthly bandwidth download.

This doesnt include video/on-demand tv as we have virgin tivo which has its own dedicated 10mbps connection, in addition to the 120mbps connection for the main broadband line.
