As a Danish-American, I agree. It's sad that there's still no Apple store in Copenhagen. It's also sad that we're still waiting for our first Apple store here in Brooklyn. Sure, we can take the subway to Manhattan and walk into an Apple store in as little as 30 minutes, but in a borough flooded with Apple product, it's just sad that we don't have a store here. Maybe 2013 will bring some good news for both Copenhagen and Brooklyn.
Agree with the poster here, Apple stores are soul-less holes of hell. Bland, full of folk just using the store as a FaceBook logon store, so if you're genuinely interested in the product, you've got no chance, try talking tech to a staff member and you can almost see your comment bounce off the insides of their heads. Its so depressing, and I wouldn't shop there if it was the only shop in town.
Independent Apple stores are far better, staffed more often than not by fans and enthusiasts who actually want to be there and who know their beans because chances are - they've been there and bought the t-shirt, so i'd always give my money to these kinda folks every time.
Lets not even start on the fiasco that is the Genius bar. I want to walk into a store and talk, generally there and then. Try that at an Applestore. Errrr...no.
I rest my case. Indy stores every time.

Born in Bolton, Uni in Manchester and now work and live in Leeds, I agree with you. Leeds feels small compared to Manchester. In fact size wise...
Man United > Leeds United
Trafford Centre > White Rose
City shopping Manchester > City shopping Leeds
Manchester theatres > Leeds theatres
Manchester casinos > Leeds casinos
Manchester (M.E.N) Arena > Leeds Arena
Manchester museums > Leeds museums
Manchester bars + clubs > Leeds bars + clubs
So regardless of true population, I still rate Manchester as bigger.
Love both cities though. Great places.

I happened to walk past the opening of Trinity this morning on the way to uni... oh my that was a lot of people there. Couldn't get remotely close to the Apple Store to have a check and couldn't hang around to wait for it to calm down.
Managed to have a walk round on the way home this evening though - its certainly a nice upgrade from the Meadowhall shop (which I'm sure is the nearest alternative for those who'll be using Leeds). At a rough guess i'd say it's 2-3 times the size of the Meadowhall store.

Unfortunately you're wrong. Leeds is INDEED the third most populated city in the UK. Manchester is behind Bradford
I think the problem is what is Manchester - the city is indeed smaller than Bradford as you said - but for a few years they used to name themselves the 2nd city based on the Greater Manchester area (which is quite large) so you can see the confusion they have.
When the flipping heck is Edinburgh, the capital of Scottyland, going to get an Apple store?!

There was already one in Yorkshire, but Sheffield is SOUTH Yorkshire, you might as well be in Humberside

Historically Sheffield was in the West Riding of Yorkshire though. The proper Yorkshire accent is dying out, replaced by a generation who can't say words with 'y' properly, making awful sounding attempts at works like 'mon-eh' and 'turk-eh' for money and turkey. Sheffield accent is starting to sound more like Leeds IMO.
I would think some of these Sheffield figures banded about refer to the 'Sheffield City Region' which tends to encompass Chesterfield (NE Derbyshire) as well. It's not a main commuter city for other places, hence the 'world's largest village' moniker.
