Weekend Trip to NE

I'm considering taking my girlfriend on a trip to New England over a weekend time frame. And suggested on where to visit/see/do? We're both huge fans of sea food. And we both are enamored by the vintage colonial New England style. Something relaxing would be great. But we both like the outdoors, too.

Also open to "don't go there". But definitely not looking to go to Florida or anything lame like that.

If you can wait until the weekend of 4/13-15 you can catch all the goings on for Patriots Day.

In Lexington, MA especially this year it's a big deal since they are also celebrating 300 years since incorporation.

Shoot, I forgot to put in a time frame. Though that does look cool. Looking at Late June, most likely.

Surely there's better places to seek travel advice than an Apple forum?

I would suggest finding a forum that covers travel in that specific area.

Sure, but then I have to muddle through tons and tons of posts and sign up for an account to post and all that jazz.

Whereas here, I can get information and advice from a wide variety of people who may or may not regularly travel, and/or live in these areas.

I actually think as for as this kind of stuff goes that MacRumors is a much better place than a travel site. They're just going to tell me the same info I can find on Google on my own.

I hear this reason used quite often. I think this is a great site for discussing random things. After all, this is "Community Discussion", as in "not Apple-related stuff".

Why is it a great site for it? It's got tens of thousands of active members from all corners of the country and world with a wide range of interests and experiences. A dedicated travel site, in this example, probably wouldn't have such a wide breadth of active participants.

If you like casinos we have 2 of the biggest ones in the world here in CT.

I would say hit up Mystic Seaport and Aquarium.

Also Sturbridge Village for that vintage colonial charm.

Acadia NP in Maine is great. You probably need more than a weekend for that though.

Except for the casinos, unless you're into that, this is probably the BEST suggestion so far. Mystic and Sturbridge are AWESOME places, and I say this not having been to either in MANY years (10+).

I did a few days in Boston last year. Lost of history, great food, very walkable, and good subway system for things too far to walk. Some things to do:

Eat at Legal Seafood.
Stroll Boston Commons.
Walk the Freedom Trail and tour the historic sites.
Dine al fresco on Hannover St, and grab a cannoli from Mike's Pastry for dessert.

Yeah I'm a huge fan of Boston. Idk why I didn't consider going back. Certainly a possibility.
