Yup, I don't charge because I "only" write small JB tweaks like camera enhancers, which

1, I too need on a daily basis (I exclusively shoot videos in my special video mode to fix the narrow-FoV problem)
2, I can use in teaching as a case study
3, I can release the sources of.

However, people that spend even months of creating a full-blown tweak / enhancer could, in some way, be paid, even if their app does have bugs. As I stated, JB programming is orders of magnitude harder than traditional iOS programming.

Im not discounting what devs do nor whining about paying for GOOD apps...

Im upset that many of these apps are more of a hack than anything, yet cost us just to find out whether or not they work. Look at Activator...Nicely done and free. Id pay for that app...

Maybe its just me and this app is great? No one has confirmed or denied my findings. Id love to find out its just me...

Yup, it IS buggy - see my posts on the bugs I've found out (e.g., shortcuts pointing to pages with the <meta name="apple-mobile-web-app-capable" content="yes" /> metatag).

Hope the dev does fix these bugs - if he can (it is at all possible - see "Black Box"), that is.

It's also not working for me. I have an ipad mini & ipad 4. This is one of my long sought after tweaks and I can't tell why its not working for me. I reinstalled some of the tweaks that I thought may conflict but it did nothing. Any help???

Then don't charge for it. ;)

That's an unreasonable expectation. Stop being so demanding of people doing this in their free time. Unless you're doing this yourself, have some understanding it's up to them to charge, not the crowd. If you don't like it don't buy it or request a refund from saurik.

How are we to KNOW if we like it before buying it bro? The dev made claims and they simply don't apply to me and likely most people. Stop expecting paying customers to drool over devs "work". The rules change once Yih charge for something. Stop being a fan and start learning how business works before you go telling paying customers what to do.

I think most of my dissapointment comes from wanting this for a long long time and then finding it doesn't work very well...Is it that hard to keep the camera app in memory? Jeeze.

The dev should have considered more testing on his own phone before releasing this to the masses.

It could just be the 4s showing its age...Not keeping up with the 5. How many poeple here with trouble are using a 4s? 500mB of ram isn't a lot...

In the end, and ACKNOWLEDGEMENT from the dev would have been nice...I have emailed him twice now.

Don't me an cheap@$$ like me. The reason it didn't work is because I downloaded from the cracked source, after paying 0.99 for the legit one, it finally works and am glad I did. So there the problem solved, hope it help those still complaining why it does nothing.

WHAT works, exactly? And on what device?

Seems this thread needs to take a turn towards weeding out culprits...

This app NEEDS to work, much more than most other tweaks out there...Having a camera take 4 seconds to load when 200mB of ram are sitting around is poor oversight on apples part...This app, needs to work.

I'm sorry, I quoted you wrong/mistakenly. I meant to respond to "Gaspertrix" that this tweak does nothing on his device. It was the same on mine until I paid money for the legit source (bigboss) that the tweak finally works on my device. Avoid the cracked version. Hope that cleared up everything. :)

Great to know it was the cracked version that refused working.

Nevertheless, the small webclip-related bug still applies (see my prev. post).

Yup, this is the case: applicationWillEnterForeground and, then, applicationDidBecomeActive aren't called when maximizing these apps. You can't force BM to call these methods either - the "Fallback to Native" and, with "Fallback to Native" being active, "Force Native Mode" switches don't have any effect on this.

At least one of these two methods that Safari (and other apps) use to know to refresh/draw their UI. This is why when returning from the background, these apps don't immediately refresh.

BTW, here's the quick test app I've written to test all this (directly deployable via Xcode):

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/81986513/052013/LifeCycleTest.zip

It'll add a new row of the called life cycle method upon every call. An example of a complete recycle (start / Home / reinvoke) in both the Native mode of BM (and without being added to BM at all):

In the "forced" Background mode of BG, only the first two entries would be present (called upon the first load), nothing else.

I see.. Thanks for the explanations.

You could also wait, search or read reviews here or from videos on Youtube. I never insinuated I "drool" over devs work, I'd appreciate if you didn't put words in my mouth.

All of which hype it as a great product...

Examples?

He may have been referred to "reviews" posted by, unfortunately, most iOS / generic tech blogs / sites, which in no way do serious tests when "reviewing" a product and, therefore, don't discover their subtle bugs either.

News on new JB tools particularly belong to this category (most tweaks aren't formally reviewed by any tech sites, let alone doing it properly), given the far less userbase of JB tools than iOS itself.

Bingo.

I managed to make it works.
First uninstalled Auxo, then uninstalled Background Manager and restarted.
After installed Background Manager, restarted and installed Auxo.

All is working fine now.

I just have the commented bug of the HTML5 apps.

Note: I have the official purchased version from Big Boss.

Can you see if the camera app is buggy? Put it in Native mode with the option to reopen it when it gets closed. Then, while open, close it and reopen it. For me, I get a black screen. Same for if iOS ends it...

I also get this odd scrolling bug. Not sure how to replicate it. It just appears and sticks until I remove the BM...

I was a cheapa$$ too. Once I bought the app everything started working for me

Ah. Well there was just an update.

Ah. Well there was just an update.

Quickly tested it on my iPad 3.

- the webapp bug I've explained above is indeed fixed. (However, once from my about 10 refresh tests, I was confronted a safe mode respring.)

- no problems with the Camera in Native mode. In Forced mode, it records video in the background as it should.

NOTE: as it's always try to render the camera's image on the screen, it continuously uses about 20% CPU time even when in the background (the, with media playback, usual mediaserve + backboardd duo and, in addition, if it still hasn't got a location fix, locationd). That is, if you do use BM to record video while doing something else, don't forget to kill it when you don't use it!

- the dev changed the "Background" mode to "Forced" to use the same terminology as the pre-iOS6 Backgrounder. (Damn, I need to post an update to my BM tutorials now...)

All of my problems are still present.

Camera doesnt work once it is killed by either iOS or myself.

Scrolling and touch responsiveness is awful...Directly after installation.

Its got to be my phone...

I'm seeing the respring issue myself. At least there's a dev to fix it lol.

Same here. If I stop scrolling in Whatsapp or Safari without taking my finger off the screen, I can't scroll anymore unless I remove my finger and reapply it onto the screen. My keyboard is kinda messed up too.... can't explain how, but it's not responding well. This tweak has lots of promise and potential, but still has bugs to figure out.
