I think it will still be a $100 gift card to the apple store.

Lol, I just checked out the discount for students in the apple website. $50 dollars off :/ I hope they give out a touch or something for the promo, so I could sell it!

it's $50 off the base price. all of the upgrades are cheaper and so is the APP

pretty generous iyam. i wouldn't hold my breath for a "free" touch though

I really thought they would announce the promotion on the same day of the keynote as like last year. I'm ready to buy right now too, but will probably wait until the promotion starts.

I'm also waiting for the promotion to start before picking up the new air. I've been without mine for a few weeks now and I'm really itching to get the replacement already.

I think students in the UK are among the luckiest when it comes to discounts.

14% discount on Macs, free 3-year warranty, plus the £70 Store voucher. I can't wait for Back to School so I can buy the new 13" MBA.

Very nice discount! Seems that the UK is certainly paying a premium on the regular prices, however. The entry level MBA is $999 in the US vs £849 in the UK which translates to $1329!!

Beginning of back to school:

2008: 3 June
2009: 27 May
2010: 25 May
2011: 16 June
2012: 11 June

Shouldn't be too long now...

As for UK prices, it is because we pay 20% VAT. And not to launch a debate, we do get better public services too, so I guess you get what you pay for :).

The student discount, and esp. the free 3 year warranty, is so good that the "I'll get a PC because Macs are overpriced" argument is largely moot over here. No wonder all you see are Macs around campus.

Is BTS available in all countries in which is Apple Store at least online?

Last year, 2012:
The offer is available in the following countries, with gift card amounts varying based on local currency: Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, and United States.

So it looks like Poland is out of luck.

When the hell is this promotion going to start? I REALLY need an MBA like right now - the £70 is just a nice bonus which would be stupid not to get.

Could get free CoD Black Ops (£35), Mavericks when it comes out (£14), and other Apps too.
