On windows I would merely just select it on the control panel. But I can't find a defrag button anywhere on Mac OSx.

We don' need no stinkin' WINDOWS

:Regains control of faculties: :D

Seriously; OS X runs just fine with some fragmentation, although it repairs itself on-the-fly.

What you'll find is more of a directory problem(s)...... ( out of order ) et al, and you may repair that using "Disk Warrior" or "Tech Tools Pro". Either or both are good investments if you're that concerned about it.

The problems are usually caused by bad installs, forced restarts, or some other software related S***! (Usually)!

Because Windows behaves like it does, just using it screws up stuff; hence the defrag utility.

This is not WINDOWS!

OS X> :)

You'll be OK!!
