When you look at what they manage to get out of the 360, then the next xbox will be seriously good graphics. Developers squeeze every little bit of power out of consoles, so they make far better use of their hardware than desktop machines.

My friend made me laugh today when he said he thought they might call the next xbox 'The new Xbox' - I laughed and said Apple would do a complete face palm. 'The new Xbox with retina display' - I can just picture it :D:D

Yes, however you are limited to the range that Apple used during that product cycle (so a 2048mb/2GB 6970M). This is because even though Apple used separate graphics boards (allowing the upgrade), the board requires a specific Apple firmware which limits you to the options that they initially offered. Best place to look would be ebay. Be aware that it will cost you a fair amount, possibly even cheaper to sell your machine and buy one of the same mode, with a better GPU.

Thanks for the feedback i gather its not worth so i will get a new imac latter this year or next with 32gb ram, 2gb video ram and a 3tb fusion which i need as my 1 tb is not keeping up with my iTunes movie downloads.

Coming from a desktop with a 660, it is a beastly little gaming card.
You won't get Ultra settings on Crysis but it'll come close and run smooth as butter.

If you're getting a new 2012 27-inch and you DIDN'T fork over the extra $150 for a 680MX you should rethink.

Wrong math .. you need to step up to high end 27" iMac for $200 just to be ABLE to upgrade the graphic. After that you may add the $150 for 680MX upgrade which is not that huge of an upgrade from the 675MX.

So no, it's not $150 from base model 27".
