I don't think it's really a proper judgement on a phone's battery to use it and then turn it off, and be surprised a month later when it's dead.

my iPhone 4 was turned off for 9 days and I had charged it to 100% before turning it off.

When I turned it on on the 10th day, it was still at 100% and mine was not a jail broken device.
