I have been a TMobile customer for five years and will be purchasing my
first iphone. In the past I have purchased several Apple products over
the years directly from Apple. Is there any advantage buying from
TMobile as opposed to Apple? Thanks in advance for your advice.

I don't think there is much advantage either way, mostly just if you are wanting to go to a store to get it and the T-mobile store is closer to you than the Apple store. At release there may be less of a line up at T-mobile stores than there is at Apple stores.

Always ALWAYS buy from Apple instead of carriers if given the choice.

Actually, this is better advice then what I gave in my earlier post. (I was just thinking about price.)

When you buy from Apple, it's much easier to go back to Apple should you have a problem. Apple's customer service is superior to any phone company.
