Online sales of the iPhone 5s have kicked off in several different countries, and a number of iPhone 5s models, the gold in particular, seem to be in short supply all around the world.

As the Apple Stores in France, Germany, and the U.K. come back online, it is clear that the shortages extend to European customers as well. Immediately after coming back up, the U.K. Apple Store displayed shipping times of 7-10 days for all colors and capacities, as did both of the online stores for France and Germany.

In Australia and China, online Apple Store shipping times for the iPhone 5s rapidly slipped to 7-10 days for all colors and capacities, with immediate unavailability of the 64GB gold version. Apple's Hong Kong and Singapore online stores have even longer waiting times, displaying an October shipping estimate for all iPhone 5s models.

Based on the extended shipping times seen around the world, it is likely that iPhone 5s supplies will be tight in the United States as well. Both in-store and online stock are likely to be limited, and customers have already begun camping out at Apple Stores across the country in the hopes of obtaining an iPhone 5s on launch day.

Seems to be 7th October or later for all of these orders. Makes me wonder if the iPhones they're ordering have even been manufactured yet!

Wonder how long it will be until I can walk into an EE store and buy one? By the looks of things late October or early November :O

I'm beginning to think that launch weekend will at best match last year (since China is involved). The 5s appears to be extremely limited in availability, and the 5c won't bring in the same numbers since it's a mid-range phone. That said, 7-10 business days isn't too bad. It will push sales into next fiscal year, though, so it will be interesting to see how this affects total iPhone shipments in the current quarter.

I bet you my future three 5S iPhones that the 5C will outsell the 5S.

Well, we don't know if they have very limited supply or there are just too many people buying at the first minute...

7-10d for them to dispatch it from the factory and the other week (might be less at the end) basically to get from china to ireland.

Except it's going to the UK and then Ireland through my forwarding service so add a day to whenever it arrives in the UK :(

Edit: So sad that Futurama has ended (again)

Yep, this was disappointing for me. I had the page there, and I was constantly refreshing. It came back up at 12:05 (or thereabouts), and immediately it was 7-10 days (as mentioned in the article).

I was hoping my patience would pay off, and I'd get a nice 5s the next working day. How wrong I was. Now I'm bleary-eyed for no reason, and I've got work tomorrow morning. After all that build-up, all that hype, all that coffee to keep me awake ... :(

Has anyone seen anything better then 7-10 days for online orders? The say it slipped to 7-10 days. What was it before that if you get in at 12:01?

But who knows, maybe by tomorrow morning it will sell out.

I think with the exception of the lucky few (hundred) that are going to pick one up in stores tomorrow its likely the 'actual' launch date will be 7th Oct judging by the stock shortages.

The App store on the phone came up at 12:01 exactly and I managed to get the 32gb gold one but with the same 7-10 day delivery. Not too long to wait though ;)
