Good point... I might see if he can find out... probably, though, by the time he knows they will be released due to the time diff with the US

I am not able to get to much, you have to remember that there arn't all that many people in this world who know every single aspect of new releases. Most who know before hand know about one particular section of the release.

I thought just having the product codes was pretty damn good so we can order them the moment they are released instead of waiting to be told the codes.

back in NYC!
That second one looks like it will be a hit for students. Burning and DVD capabilities, with more RAM, and a better HD, for a good price. Sounds like a good laptop to me.

I agree the middle one looks good, though you'd think they could squeeze in another 128MB RAM for the extra $300 (along with the larger HD and combo drive)...

My contact is lead to believe that there will be no change to the graphics card but has not got anything in stone.

So graphics stay at 16 MB... I'm not disappointed; these are still great computers. Make mine 800 mhz with a combo drive, please.

Austin, Texas...y'all
I'm sold

and will be ordering the 14" model. Is it possible that the max RAM capabilities have been increased to a full gig? I've never understood the 640 MB max on the current iBooks, unless it's just another way to differentiate the platform from the TiBooks.

I still don't see any new product on the Apple site... wasn't it all supposed to be release already, according to the ever so reliable rumours?

It's widely speculated that the US elections that are going on today have postponed the announcement until tomorrow.

The iBook comes with 128 MB RAM soldered on the motherboard. The iBook comes with only one free RAM slot, witch takes a maximum of 512 MB, 128 + 512 is 640...
