I would LOVE to have an LCII again (that was my first mac) - I had used the family Macintosh before and loved that chunky keyboard, but the LCII was all mine. Had me a colour monitor and 40MB Hard disk with I think 4MB Ram!

One day I'd like to have another in working condition, just for the memories of those years. :)

/sigh smiles to herself of happy and sad times past.....

Kinda modern, but any of the aluminum Mac Pros. I would love to sit there and drool at the minute details in those things.

Sure pick up an old power mac g5 for a good price on eBay! Great fun toys and they'll add an amazing degree of style to your collection :)

Acutally no, but my friend has one. Doesn't have the box, but has the audio tapes, stickers, and manuals for it. Cool little toy, but I don't have any special draw to it. I had a 512k and still have a Plus, so thats still some pretty early stuff. Since I posted that, I attained the G5 Quad and the dual 1.42 G4

Nice those are a museum gem, 128k won't run virtually anything though. And the 400k drive is a pain, coupled with the awful MFS file system...
I have the 512Ke, 512k with the plus rom basically. Runs system 6! :)

I wish I had the quad. I have one nearly as good though, a late 2005 2.0 dual core power mac g5. Bottleneck on that is easily the rubbish 6600le. Wish cards like the 7800 would sell for sensible prices :/

I was able to get a X1900 for mine pretty cheap as I recall. Over time I was able to get it to 12GB of RAM and 1.5TB of HDD space. It's been a really reliable box for the last 3 years, so it remains my primary system.

I sold my G5 when I moved here because of space issues and I have to admit I miss the thing.

Think there'll always be a part of me that wants a bright purple or orange G3 iBook. Those eBay auctions are tempting.

i still have the two imacs that i bought in 2002. a g3 and a g4. but i've added to my fold. in the last 5 months i've added two g4 1.25ghz imacs, a 2.13ghz macbook and a 1.33ghz ibook. i can honestly say that i've got all the macs i've ever truly wanted. in the last couple of years i've gotten rid of a 466mhz clamshell and two dual usb ibooks. i just didn't use them anymore. it's amazing just how cheap these things are these days.

I keep lusting over the colourful G3 iBooks, but every time I look at them on eBay, I start wondering what the hell would I do with one ;) Have been trying to declutter my home, so can't bring myself to get one just to look at it.

I've wanted to get my hands on an iMac G4 and a 15" PowerBook G4. No particular reason, just like the look of them. A local electronics shop had a PowerBook G4 15" for $150, maxed out. If I had the money I would've bought it.

Up, up in my studio, studio
...
iMac G4 "Luxo Lamp" 20". Stunningly gorgeous; it caught my eye in a CompUSA store and made me want to reenter the Mac world.

Although it's not the 20" I was ultimately hoping for, I have managed to obtain-- through sheer luck-- a fully functional iMac G4 with working Apple Pro speakers (!!!) and negligible cosmetic imperfections. It's the late-model 15" with the 1.0 GHz processor. It still had its stock 256 MB of RAM and OS X 10.2.8; I've upgraded the RAM to 512 using a SODIMM I had in storage.

My question to you, fellow MR users:
Do I keep 10.2.8 on it, or upgrade to 10.4 or 10.5?

Sunflower iMac was always tops for me. G4 cube. Heck, I kind of miss my old G3 and G4 towers. Also always liked the Mac II Color.
