TMZ is reporting that his car crashed and burst into flames. Talk about bad karma.

http://www.tmz.com/2013/11/30/paul-walker-dead-dies-car-accident-fatal-fire-crash/

Paul Walker, one of the main stars of the popular Fast and Furious action-movie franchise, was killed on Saturday in a car accident in Santa Clarita, Calif.

The actor's representative, Ame Van Iden, confirmed his death to USA TODAY. He was 40.

Walker had returned home for the holidays from the Atlanta set of Fast and Furious 7 and was scheduled to return next week.

The California native appeared in all but one of the Fast and Furious movies, starring as Brian O'Conner opposite Vin Diesel. Other movie credits include Varsity Blues, Eight Below, Takers and the upcoming Hours, an indie drama set in Lousiana after Hurricane Katrina out Dec. 13.

The 40-year-old actor was a passenger in a Porsche that lost control and crashed in Santa Clarita, north of Los Angeles, killing both occupants.

A post by the actor's team on Facebook says the actor had been attending a charity event to raise money for people affected by Typhoon Haiyan, which hit The Philippines last month.

"We appreciate your patience as we too are stunned and saddened beyond belief by this news," the post said.

"Thank you for keeping his family and friends in your prayers during this very difficult time."

Celebrity news website TMZ, which first reported news of the death, says the car hit a post or tree and was quickly engulfed in flames.

The identity of the driver of the car is not known.

Film studio New Regency, which distributes through Twentieth Century Fox, tweeted its condolences to the actor.

It is with great sadness to report that @realpaulwalker has passed away. We will miss you. #RIP

Walker's career began on the small screen, with roles in shows including The Young and the Restless and Touched by an Angel.

He rose to fame after starring in the 1999 hit film Varsity Blues, but is best known for starring as Brian O'Conner in a string of Fast and Furious movies.

His other film credits include Pleasantville, Into the Blue, She's All That and Takers.

He is survived by his teenage daughter Meadow.

I am trying to get other reports but so far TMZ is the only one with the story. To be fair they have been more accurate than the real news agencies lately.

Here's another report:
http://m.nydailynews.com/1.1533786

Happened in my home town and asked my family, they said there was an accident but didn't know who was involved. There are often accidents there so it's hard to say if this is the same.

From TMZ:
At this point, it's unclear what caused the accident, or who was behind the wheel when it happened.

Paul was 40 years old.

Sources close to Paul tell us he was in Santa Clarita for a car show to support the Philippines typhoon relief effort, and had been taking friends out for rides in his new Porsche GT. The accident happened during one of those test spins.

A rep for Paul confirms he was leaving the charity event at the time of the wreck.
NBC, ABC, and the AP are all reporting it now.

So his Porsche GT (Carrera?) but he wasn't the one driving? I can only assume whoever was driving had no experience or was not familiar with how unpredictable a Porsche can handle at high speeds. Extremely unfortunate if this was the case.

So sad. I'm a fan of the fast & furious series & I enjoyed seeing him in the series due to the way they all had a special bond, fast 7 won't be the same w/out him. RIP :(

Confirmed: Paul Walker killed in fiery car crash.

Is it bad I had no clue who he was until a few hours ago? I've never been interested in those movies. Sad none the less. rip

Former world rally champion and Porsche test driver Walter Rohrl told Drive the new Porsche supercar is "the first car in my life that I drive and I feel scared".

The driver of the car that Walker died in was, Rodger Rodas was a racecar driver:

"His achievements while racing saw him win second place in the Pirelli Porsche Driver's Cup Series Championship in 2012."

If you do a search about the Carrera GT you will find some instances of it being noted as a scary unstable car.

Well I suppose that puts an end to Fast and Furious 36.2 or whatever we're on now. Unless its already been filmed.

Yeah. Read more details as they were revealed, original reports didn't have Rodger as the driver. We don't know the circumstances around the crash but I still think the car was going faster than it should have resulting in a severe crash and ultimately it being engulfed with flames. I would believe if the car was at legal limits, he would have the experience to somewhat control the car.

As far as Porsche's go, the quicker and more powerful 911's, including the GT3 RS are known for being unpredictable but has been often considered as a "positive" attribute for being drivers cars. There is absolutely no doubt that the Carrera GT would be the same. Very Unfortunate.
