I bought an ipod touch 1st gen and I want to try out every ios since there is no need for shsh. I can't restore it, it is in boot loop and when I try to restore, I get error 1 and 20 and on itunes there is no serial number, it just says NA.

It could be the cable. That, and that newer versions of iTunes won't handle iOS 1.0 and 2.0, only the most recent 3.0+ build.

Try going to the nearest radioshack or write a letter to apple. I hope it will work
