A new photo may indicate that Apple is nearing the grand opening of its long delayed retail store in Hanover, Germany, reports iFun.de [Google Translation]. The photo shows the building's partially constructed internals with an exposed Apple logo on the right side of its entrance, with a flag pole also positioned over the left door.

Furthermore, the layout of the location in question is similar to that of the Apple Store Opéra in Paris, France, which boasts similar features and has become known as as one of the company's most visually appealing locations.

It is likely that Apple's Hanover location will open sometime in April, which would mark one year after the company put up its traditional plain black barricades to begin progress on the store. The store will also mark Apple's 14th location in the country, which includes stores in Düsseldorf, Berlin, and Frankfurt.

Apple announced during its financial results conference call for the third quarter of 2013 that it would be building over 30 new stores in fiscal 2014, with 2/3 of those stores to be located outside of the United States. Apple also plans to remodel 20 stores over the course of the year.

Does anyone really care about these announcements on new stores?

People in the countries mentioned care. For example here in Germany there were only 2 Apple Stores. I don't know how the situation in the US is, but you were highly dependent to retailers.

With the one now opened in Berlin, the new in Hannover and the upcoming second one in Cologne (Apple already bought the building, right in the city), it's getting a bit better ;)

I'm always excited to watch the Apple growth story continue globally. I don't think there's anything weird about this. I also like visiting all Apple stores all over the world, because they are often based in historic buildings with memorable in-store experiences.

Any chance of a shot of the back of the store? There's some great Apple logo emblazoned trash cans there, somebody said. Which match the Trash Can symbol on Mavericks. Fantastic. Come on. This is why we read Macrumors after all. Stories like this make it all worthwhile! Yeah, baby!

LOL, it's not even an announcement on a new store. "Progress is being made"? WTH? One would assume so, right? Time is still moving forward?

In other news, the lawn surrounding the new Apple campus grew .2 millimeters in the last 24 hours. I'm trying to bribe the security guard to get me photographic evidence.

you're really complaining? of course people care. this is a website that revolves around Apple. this store (if it's gonna be anything like the Opera location) is gonna look amazing. people are definitely interested even if you aren't...
