Wow, that iPhone is HUGE! I hope they dont go that big. I still want to have an iPhone that I can text with 1 hand (I have small hands):D with and that can fit in my pocket. SHEESH.:D

These pics actually show a screen size of about 5.1", right in between the rumoured 4.7" and 5.5" sizes.

So, maybe this front panel is fake. Or the 4.7"/5.5" rumours are inaccurate.

You can't accurately measure it like that, as the two phones are at different angles from each other.

When I removed the distortion first with Photoshop's perspective warp (using the iPhone 5 as a reference) my result was almost 4.7".

Is it my imagination, or is the girls thumb making an indent in the 'glass', as though its actually a cut out piece of plastic or perspex with some white paper cut out into the shape of the surround, and glued onto the back, i.e. a fake. Real glass wouldn't do that surely, it would be solid.

There is a screen protector stuck to the glass, you can see the tag to remove it on the top right.

There may be a slight difference in angle. But not enough, I think, to distort the measurements that much.

If you measure the other image, which is taken on a flat surface, you get a very similar result.

I don't think there will be a compact version of the iPhone 6 either. There will be some variation of the 5s or 5C. Who knows, maybe Apple will surprise us?

I like the dual front facing speakers on the M8, the speakerphone is loud and clear. I think they should have used a better camera and left it at that. There are always a few things that I wish were different on every phone I've ever had and I've been using cell phones for over 20 years. It wold be so easy to make a perfect phone. :D

It has been a while since the last time a smartphone truly amazed me ....
It was the iPhone 4S.
Since then, I bought every iPhone, a couple of droids (all Samsung and all very disappointing) and a couple of windows phones. The only decent one was the iPhone 5, but nothing to write home about it ....
I love the iPhone 5S, but it's nothing really new and exciting.

I have very high expectations about iPhone 6.
I'm not going to spend another 720 € (!!!) if it doesn't worth it.

Sadly I don't know how to "jump ship" because I basically hate any Samsung device (they have the ability to ruin anything they make), Lumias are far from perfection (and WP has a few major flaws) and any other droid are just meh ...

I'll never understand this forum's obsession with one handed use. Smartphones aren't phones, they're pocket computers that can make phone calls, and a larger screen makes using it considerably easier and more pleasant.

I have a Nexus 5 and using it one handed is very easy. Equally, I forever see iPhone users who choose to use two hands.

4.5-5.5 inch screens seem ideal in my opinion and iPhones are just too small. I guess, being an Android user, I'm used to being spoilt for choice. Hopefully Apple will finally have a range of sizes available so ios users can also have the same choice.

There are literally tons of occasions when you have to take the phone from your pocket, unlock it, check something and send a text/Mail/something, all of that while you are busy in doing something else.

The Windows phone 8.1 update should bring some needed improvements. Cortana is looking to be a worthy competitor to Google Now and Siri. I honestly didn't find the 4S to be an amazing phone. I'd say that the iPhone 4 was that. Don't get me wrong, they've all been nice phones, but not groundbreaking. Samsung phones really don't do much for me, although I think the Note 3 would be great without the bloat. I like the Moto G and X, Google Nexus, HTC One and I think the Lumia Icon is nice, but that's Verizon only and the 928 is decent too.

iPhone 4 was a little bit underpowered in many ways, not to speak about the far-from-terrific antenna (antennagate was grossly exaggerated, but surely it wasn't well designed) ... I think the 4S was really "THE PHONE".
Lumia 930 will be the good Lumia and nexus 5 really is a missed opportunity: great hardware at a fantastic price, but a mediocre camera and battery. Still the only droid I'd buy now is a nexus 5 or an M8.

Anyone who is unsure of the size of the front panel should try to make it out of paper (138mm x 64mm). It's really not that bad, the dimensions are good at least for me. I personally like it compared to my 5.

I have to admit though, that it's a lazy design effort by Ives.

True, the 4 was a bit underpowered and the antenna design wasn't the greatest, but it was a fresh, new design and every version since still looks very much like the 4, IMO. And if the mockups of the 6 are correct, it will just be a bigger version of the 5. There has to be some room in there somewhere for Apple to shake up the design just a little bit. Thin and slippery isn't the end all for me personally. I like the ergonomics of the Moto X and M8.

Jony probably isn't much involved in the iPhone 6. No doubt he's busy with more revolutionary products like the iWatch, and possibly other wearables.

iPhones will have been farmed out to more junior designers at Apple (who I'm sure are very talented).

I still get 4.7 with that one as well.

I thought the iphone 6 was going to be different and revolutionary.. they cannot even make it benzel free!

Yes, it's sad. But as you are no doubt aware, the rare-earth element Benzel is a vital ingredient in the manufacture of smartphones.

Sadly, as scientists are yet to develop a viable Benzel-free smartphone, wars will continue to be fought over blood-Benzel in Africa.

And children in the Benzel-rich regions of China will continue to suffer from the poisonous effects of water contamination from dirty Benzel mines. :(

Looks more legit? No *****. It's the same design, just bigger.

look again,it's not the same design.
the edges of that graphic were too round, were as this one is less round.
that design was basically an iPad mini scaled down,it looks good for iPad mini, but looked silly as an iPhone.

I don't find those models so similar, tbh

I think there are differences

We don't know, iPhone 6 could be different

Yikes... those bezels. This might end up being taller than many 5" screen phones. Since the 6s will likely have the same form factor, we're looking at Fall, 2016 before we'll have a chance at small bezels all around, no physical home button, and screen-integrated touch ID.

There need to be reasonable top and bottom bezels so that it's possible to hold the phone in landscape, and they need to be equal so that it is the same in either landscape orientation.
No physical home button and touch ID would be terrible. There would be no easy way to locate the button and capacitive buttons tend to be too sensitive. Android phones with capacitive buttons get accidental presses, do whatever they want, and they make the user want to snap their teeth in half and shoot themselves it the eyes.
Gestures are not going to replace them either, because there shouldn't be the need to learn them.

I guess it's subjective. I very much prefer virtual buttons to physical, and the design that it allows. I own a Moto X, which has very small bezels and I never have issues with landscape or the Android buttons. In fact, I rarely even use the sleep/wake button because of the active display. As many have said in this thread - Moto X nailed the size, shape, and feel-in-the-hand.

I had an iPhone 4 and was psyched for iPhone 5 until I saw it was only taller. My vision isn't good and taller just gives you more lines of text at the same size. Screen width is better for increasing size. So I got a Galaxy S3... liked the screen but hated the slick plastic, Samsung bloat, inconsistent performance, and yes... physical home button.

After cracking my screen, I figured I'd get a Nexus 5 and hope for a bigger iPhone 6. Moto X wasn't even on my radar until picking it up in the store. You have to hold that thing to get it, and near-stock Kit-Kat solves most of the Android issues I had. To my surprise, I love this thing. But I'm still watching the iPhone 6 with interest - if only because I want to see Apple get back into the design innovation game!

I would have to actually hold it, but my first impression is that it looks clown-sized. I really don't want to have to hold a clown phone all the time. I think the 5 and 5s are the perfect size. But I will withhold final judgement until I actually hold one, it may change my mind.
