How so? Seriously asking. It doesn't make sense, the display should have the same tint as the rest of the image, albeit less yellow due to the LCD's brightness.
The display won't have the same tint since it's considerably brighter and of different hue of light than it's surroundings that bathe in yellow light. Any possible reflections on the screen however should show signs of the same yellow tint and if you look closely at the photos you'll notice that they in fact do (in the top left sides of the screens).

My worst nightmares starting to realize. Thick mid-2000s style side bezels (needless to say about top an bottom ones) and protruding camera.

One huge win for asymmetry everywhere but one huge loss for acceptable bezels. I don't understand this fascination with sticking to the norm. You're Apple, you're supposed to think different.

Other than the bezels and antenna breaks, I do think it looks quite sexy though.

I don't even care about the antenna breaks, what I was hoping for was smaller bezels, like the LG G3, but as long as the physical home button stays, the top and bottom bezels are going to be bigger than I wish they were.

I agree, this is Apple and they should be able to put the largest screen possible in the physically smallest case.

I think the improvement in the camera will more than make up for the slightly less aesthetic appeal.

But if they would have just kept the thinness of the 5s there would be NO protruding camera.

Nobody wanted a thinner phone, nobody. People want more battery.

We are at a point where thinness is not a selling point anymore, it's thin enough. At the last keynote they didn't even get applause for it anymore. Apple has drifted into an obsession about thinness to the detriment of everything else.

Now the iPhone is so thin, that it has to look shi**y because of it.

What is the point?

I guess it depends a lot on your habits, or perhaps you are just "weight challenged" or wearing huge baggy pants all the time, but I think this criticism is absolutely reasonable. I often wear "regular fit" jeans (Levi's 505 or similar), and the 5S is already a tight fit in the front pocket when sitting down due to its length. And the 6 looks like it's at least 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch longer. And no, I don't want to take out my phone every time I sit down, or lug around a bag everywhere I go. I have my phone with me all the time, and portability is much more important to me than a slightly bigger screen. If this thing is really as big as it looks in the picture, I'll have to skip it or perhaps switch to another manufacturer (although I would hate to lose iOS). :(

I guess it just depends then on which fad you wanna roll with- ball hugger jeans or big-screened smart phones. The choice is yours.

That's already a big mama jamma!

Can't wait to see the 5.5 incher!

It's big because the bezel is still HUGE. There is no improvement in aesthetics at all:

1. huge bezel making the modest 4.7" size into a massive phone
2. Black border around the screen which is especially visible on the white model
3. huge bezel

The 4 was the best design, the 5 made some compromises, the 6 takes them further. It's not great and the competition have started to surpass Apple in this regard now. Anyone who thinks the 6 is the "best iPhone design ever" is a fanboy, sorry.

I haven't seen anyone proclaiming that it's the ~best iPhone design ever~, though?

I still think it looks better than the smartphones currently on the market, though.

Samsung - flimsy plastic
HTC One - same antenna bands people are complaining about here
LG G3 - clunky camera style
Nexus 5 - oddly shaped, plastic

I'm actually more bothered by the bezels than the rest of the design, tbh. Hopefully they'll find a way to work Touch ID in a different design.

I actually agree with you, personally I don't think the phone needs to be thinner. I would prefer better battery life and keep the same thickness as the 5S. I think they are obsessed with thinness.

It has nothing to do with us. If no one would have leaked the info that apple was working on making a watch, samsung / lg / motorolla would never have went all-in on making smart watches in the first place, and thats exactly what its about... Having an edge about a product segment, just like the first iPhone came out. Capish?

Im happy no one was able to leak any info about the look of the iWatch so far.

Are you working for Apple or an investor?

Anyway, smartwatches and wearables have been depicted in various scifi novels and movies since the 1950's and been available for purchase in one form or the other since at least the 1980's. I think it is quite safe to say that whatever Apple does or does not has NOTHING to do with the fact that smartwatches are being hyped all over by techies.

Okay, so please correct me if I'm wrong, but for some reason I still think this model is a fake. This is my reasoning: the fake one posted that another reader bought from eBay for $70 has the model number either A1429 or A1426, either way, that model number is for the iPhone 5. We know that one is a fake... I just find it so convenient that the post it note so conveniently covers up the model number in this so called iPhone 6...

Granted this may be the final design, I just personally think the one shown here is a fake.

The back of my 5 looks smooth. You can feel barely perceptible seems if you run your fingers over the back but...lol. You guys are expecting magical materials or something.

There were tons of posts about glass that didn't match perfectly or screens not perfectly flat or small gaps here and there. The realities of the mass produced device were concealed by images akin to those in fast food marketing. The Apple marketing speak cemented the notion of a perfectly constructed "jewel-like" device.

Don't get me wrong. I have a 5S and like it just fine. This is just an observation I made during the past few releases.

Yes! He clearly violated the terms of his employment and the amount of effort that is spent on secrecy was completely moot.

Who cares? Unless you've missed it, the Chinese have been making copies of this design for quite some time now. I'm pretty sure that they all come from the same production line, or at least the same facility as well.

Copyrights, design patents, and IP in general has a very different meaning and value over in China.

The edges around the screen when he's in the Message app are pretty jagged, being either a bad Photoshop job or a resizing thing on Weibo's end.

Good catch, my mistake. :)

You're wrong. I want a thinner phone every year. I care more about thinness and lightness than battery life.

But you said many times Apple would never make a larger iPhone. Remember? 4" was perfect and anything bigger was ridiculous.

Agreed. I can always plug my phone in if I need more juice.

At my desk-plugged in

In my car-plugged in

Asleep-plugged in

and so on.

If I can't get to a plug, there is always a battery case.

Electricity is everywhere.

I disagree. An equal thickness phone as the 5/5S meant a heavier phone as the 6 is taller and wider. No way Apple is going to release a heavier phone as their flagship. The 5.5" is another story because it's a given that such a larger device will be heavier too.

Thin sells. Period. It resonates with consumers. People pickup a light iPhone and they are happy. Yes, battery life is more important in daily use. But thin sells. And let's hold off the battery fears until the keynote and real reviews.

The protruding camera is irrelevant. I've used several smartphones with protruding cameras. I never even notice it. As long as the iPhone 6 takes best in class photos (and I expect it will) it won't matter.
