Doesn't look like a screenshot of a 6+ in that article. The battery/clock/signal are all very big and take up a lot of real estate that they do not on the 6+ shots we have seen.

That actually looks like it could be a 5/5S when you think about the scale of the item at the top vs the overall screenshot size.

----------

Yep, that Phonearena screenshot showing 1GB RAM is actually a screenshot of a 5S...I layered a screenshot from 5S over the phone arena screenshot and the sizing of the clock, battery and signal are the same and so are their positions on the screen.

Thus, I'm not buying that article either!

To take a Step further I layered the 6+ screenshot from Apple's site over the screenshot in the phone arena and it proves my point that the screenshot we see in the PA article is not a 6 Plus. See below:

Thanks for that... Something is fishy

I don't care either way, just find it hilarious how passionate people are about this.

Why is the 6+ in such a shortage by the way? A fairly standard 1920x1080 display, same A8 SoC (assuming 1GB RAM), and a battery that isn't particularly hard to source or manufacture. The only unique hardware that may be causing the shortage is the OIS camera module.

Maybe part of it has to do with yield on a 2GB RAM A8 variant?

I may cancel my 6+ pre-order if I find out it has 1GB - I want whatever is going to serve a power user best, and bloated UI elements filling up limited RAM doesn't sound like that's my best option.

Thanks for the hope. Still have my fingers crossed!

Thanks for that post, I was wondering the same thing. But are you sure the screenshots aren't scaled differently?

How does the iPhone 6+ handle running unoptimized apps? i.e an older app that is designed to work on 16:9 screens but has not been optimized to work with the extra pixels? Couldn't that possibly explain the differences you're seeing?

Edit: Reach9 beat me to it. :p

My guesses.

1) Apple knows the 4.7" will sell well so they made a lot. The 5.5" is a higher price and is sort of the new thing.

2) Apple is saving a lot of 5.5" for Asia where phablets are more popular (China, Japan, etc.)

I think they mentioned something in the keynote where apps will just scale to the 6/6+ size and look fine.

Sure, they'll scale and look fine, but couldn't that explain the differences in the screenshots a few posts up?

The number of pixels it's having to drive certainly does.
The iPad Air and Mini retina run just as good as my iPhone 5S for my usage pattern so I doubt it will matter for most users. Notice I said for most users.

Nice catch, but could it be that

1) iOS8 changed the size of clock and battery icon ? I haven't used iOS8, so I don't know.

2) If it's not an iOS8 change, perhaps Apple's official iPhone 6/6+ renders incorrectly made the battery, clock too small ?

There is likely going to be only 1GB of RAM, but I'd like to hear it from a reliable source.

Let me put it simple.

THE PICTURE IS GENUINE. PERIOD.

There's something called 'Display Zoom' in 6/6+.

Reference: http://www.apple.com/iphone-6/display/

I'm more than confident because I know the leaker's name, gender, nationality, and workplace.

Hint? "I ate Kimchi near the apple tree in Sidney."

The number of pixels it's having to drive certainly does.

Does an iPad air have 2GB? because it has far more pixels and I've yet to notice any problems on it. ... 3.15 Million Pixels on an iPad Air ... 2.07 Million iPhone 6+ ... 3.15/2.07 = 1.52 ... so the iPad Air has to drive 52% more pixels...

I'm absolutely 100% certain you are wrong. Don't care who you say you know.

----------

Yes it does, look at the example on the page. It makes the top bar look exactly like the one in the article

No way to verify that. The only phone shown on the Apple page is the regular 6.

Sorry ... but thats the Pic in question overlaid ontop of the Zoom Mode on apples site ...

... but it may only be a normal iPhone 6 not a 6+

Well thats cool but the zoom mode on apple site is the regular 6 so...

The phone in question in the phone arena article is the plus.

--> Silly. You have no idea who 'he' is, and who I am.

2) No way to verify that.
--> Silly, again. Search 'Display Zoom' in the page, and there will be 2 buttons named 'Standard view' and 'Zoom view'. Click each, and see what changes.

EDIT: Sorry, no.2 was not for you but for recklesslife85. I was confused while writing 2 replied at once..
