I am wondering what the best firewire audio interface (under $500) would be for my Mac Powerbook G4 with a 867 MHz Processor & 768 MB SDRAM, for use with Logic Express 7. I am relatively new to home recording. I have a Rode NTK mic and a Roland PC-300 midi keyboard and I don't plan on doing much multi-tracking. Just vocals, midi keyboard, maybe some bass and some effects. Thanks!

It's a very convoluted subject, read through some threads in this forum, there are plenty of suggestions.

I use an M-box 1 with Protools LE, works fine with a good pre on the front end, but I'm picky about audio.

A lot of folks like the Focusrite Saffire for the onboard DSP, and M-audio's range should be considered, but it really depends upon your software and your target usage.

Choosing a few and asking for opinions is a more productive approach.
