How much battery life are you getting out of your ipod touch 4g at full charge. Like gaming, surfing the internet, watching videos or listening to music.

RIGHT BEHIND YOU!!!
1-3 hours gaming, 3-6 hours light web surfing, 20+ hours music with screen off.
Mine is about two years old and heavily used, so I'm surprised it still lasts this long.

iTouch 4G battery life

I'll give you some real time results from my usage. Hopefully this will help.
I get about 2.5 hours full time usage on my 4G iTouch, when playing poker on Big Fish Games (iTunes casino app). This is constant usage with Wi-Fi connection on. I get about 8 hours of podcasts playing continuously. My iTouch is about 1.5 years old and I use it daily. :)

When was my iTouch built?

Is there any way to determine when my two iTouchs were built?

I'm getting less than an hour of charge-holding in a day with 85% sleeping. I want to see how old my batteries are.

Many thanks for any suggestions.

JP

ps:
What is the plural for iTouch? (iTeach, iTeechies, iTush, iTooch, iTie, iTouche?)

Considering all the stuff, it's a range of 5 hours with screen on. My touch has 2 years.

One recent exception is with tiny tower vegas. Its battery hungry App :(

Mine's horrible - I can get an hour out of it if I'm lucky (I got it at release so it's 4 years old). I don't really use it other than in a dock since I have an iPhone as well so it's not much of a problem for me.

I get around 37 hours of uninterrupted audio playback under battery testing conditions. But realistically it's probably about 4 hours of usage like others have said. I got mine in December 2010, so it's pretty original. I also recently sold it, but it served it's purpose almost as long as anything I've owned. Still have a 2nd gen and a 2006 iPod video though.

Here was my test notes at the time. Impressive for a 4 year old battery. But it had it's share of issues calculating it's percentage properly. It was all over the map.

I thought about replacing the battery, but since it was used mostly for music and not apps or internet. I kept the WiFi and BT off for better battery life. Along with using iOS 4.2.1 instead of iOS 6. Huge improvement in speed and battery life with less things to process and keep in memory. Instead I replaced my horribly scratched up screen with a red one :) It was a nice mod to hold me over till I got my Classic.

On my redsn0w jailbroken ipod 4 (6.1.6), i got about 20 mins of candy crush:(. from indicated 100%) WiFi time was about 40 minutes. I could listen to music for about 15 hours tho. That ipod was a 1 year old:mad: If i used at school it needed at least 2 daily charges, one day it received 5 full charges. At least the rooted battery charged quickly:D

THAT is bad battery life

Time to use the 2-year warranty if you live in the EU

My pod touch 4 gets about 30 minutes of usage when using the Internet- but that's with the backlight/brightness down to maybe 5%. If I had the backlight at 75% or more it would probably die from a full charge in 10 minutes or less. I've had it since December 2010 so it's pretty old and I don't know if a Battery replacement is worth it. I have my i new iPhone and new iPad mini so I generally use those for the Internet and I only use my touch when the others are charging or if I'm just too lazy to go to a different room to get my iPhone or iPad. In terms of battery life for my iPod touch when gaming-I really do that anymore on it (that's what my iPad mini is for). My iPod touch is only 8GB so I can't fit that much games and with the terrible battery life, gaming only lasts 15 minutes or so. I haven't used it for music in about 20 months so I'm not sure how long music lasts but I'd imagine it lasts for close to 8 hours...I stopped using it for music because it was only an 8GB so I couldn't fit much on it so I got an iPod nano 7 specifically for music.

I don't understand how all your batteries are terrible, mine usually last 5-6 hours normal usage on my 4g

I dropped mine in water twice, so that's more than likely why. It used to have one of the best batteries I'd ever seen, sometimes lasting up to a week on a full charge.
