Image Capture Bug

Since updating, Image Capture no longer recognizes my Brother Multi-function printer as a scanner device. :(

I'm pretty sure those speeds are only possible on the fabled Google Fibre network which is I swear is only available in really select parts of America?

Well, anyone can get Wifi transmit speeds of 1300mbps, just get an 801.11ac router

Actual internet download speeds are dependant on your ISP, Wifi Signal Quality and the number of devices using Wifi

I get a nice 78mb/s download from the internet thanks to BT, my router (a Time Capsule) is capable of 1300mbps transmit rate, and I can download from devices on its gigabit interface at over 500mbps

Alas the fabled Google fibre is just that for the majority of people

This did not fix my wifi issues to my 2014 5K iMac. Still get randomly disconnected, and then I cannot reconnect to the 5Ghz network of my AC Time Capsule until I reboot. I can connect to the 2.4Ghz network just fine...

Did anyone notice an improvement with downloading large files over WiFi? Ever since upgrading my '11 MBP, the WiFi seems to occasionally creep and it tends to be when downloading large files. Ironically, Speedtest still runs fine. Ethernet is of course immune to the issue.

"Improves reliability when connecting to a Microsoft Exchange Server"

I sure don't see that —*same sync errors as before the upgrade.

Same here. Everything that could possibly be wrong with the Exchange support, is.

It insists on finding the server for me automatically. It finds the wrong one 3 times out of 4.

It arbitrarily alters my full name by deleting my last name from it. This issue was introduced earlier, probably Lion. I can make the last name stick in the local settings if I edit the full name, but people who receive my emails say that it still only shows my first name as sender.

The Description refuses to stick. Whatever I call it, it bounces right back to "Exchange" after a few minutes.

It reluctantly accepts that the user name has to be the full email address, including "@"+domain, but only on the first Mac. Once it's copied to the others, the second half of the username has been cut off, and mail starts prompting me for the correct password (it is the correct password, it's the username that's wrong because you butchered it ya dumb machine).

I had to disable iCloud Keychain and hammer the settings in for each Mac. Once I've done that, even though all three are set up correctly I get some crazy echo chamber phenomenon where one Mac decides to butcher the account settings in some way or other and the others follow...

Why can't it just be like on iOS where it can be configured manually and where it always works perfectly, like it did on OS X until they added that whole "Internet accounts" prefpane?

Time Machine is still totally and utterly borked. Cannot browse with favourites, only way to access backups is navigating to the HDD first then browse back from there.

I have a complete new system ( Macbook Retina, Time Machine ) and just tried yet another clean install via USB. STILL FRIGGIN BROKEN!!

Updated on my 11" Air. I haven't had any of the WiFi problems people have listed here. My only issue has been not getting Handoff to work. My iPhone won't connect to Bluetooth to get it to work. It drops the connection immediately. Strange.

My magic mouse is laging franticly lately. Is this known issue with Yosemite?

Not sure if Apple knows about it but they should. It's with their own trackpad. Apparently the problem is only present when operating under battery power. Haven't tested my rMBP to see if this update fixes the problem.

Does it break the kext updates I did with Continuity Activation Tool on my MBA mid-2011 13"?

I'm looking for the answer to this too. It wouldn't surprise me if Apple in their arrogance had a special team working to shut that down.

With OSX.10.0 I had no trouble establishing a Bluetooth pairing of my iPhone and my Mac. With OX10.1 I can't do this. Am I alone in this problem?

WiFi, and DNS A-OK in 10.10.0, and still OK now. Cannot understand why some are still having issues.

AirPort Extreme current 802.11 ac model

Bluetooth status icon in menu bar appear every time even though I uncheck in system preferences. So I was wondering if anyone has this problem or if it is just me.

I'm not holding my breath. I am at (10) today.

Hostname or IP address? If you're getting the hostname changed when you connect to the network, it could be because multiple machines have the same name. You would need to ensure that each has a unique name to avoid this conflict and auto-changing.

If you're referring to the last octet of your local IP address, it's unusual for it to change that frequently, but you could always set a manual address at a higher number to avoid that problem.

still does not fix my magic mouse losing BT connection!!!

Make sure you don't have too many other devices in close proximity. There could be signal interference.

should I update?

still on mavericks because I'm on an important project and I want all the software to run smooth and without problems
is this update ok to try?
thanks!

I haven't had any wifi problems on Yosemite so far on 10.10, so I hope this update doesn't actually mess it up instead
