What's the best program to get my huge music collection (mostly from CDs) off of my iPod Classic in Win XP? Or I can use a friend's Win 7 computer.

Just looking to backup. Songs are no longer in iTunes. Thanks!

iTunes May Be The Key.

Best I know; you need to have iTunes on your xp computer. Then you need to connect the iPod Classic to your xp computer. Then you sync your classic to the iTunes Library on your xp computer. Then iTunes will save (sync) the classic songs on your computer in the iTunes library folder on the xp computer.

I used sharepod back in the day, dunno if it's still around. It was just some simple freeware and worked great. You can also do it manually by showing all the hidden folders on the ipod and copying all of the F00, F01 and whatnot folders to the disk, but the names and stuff on the files will not be saved.
