Goal:
To provide both private and public network access in the home for Internet access, file sharing, and other server services.

Design:
At least 2 Ethernet drops, 1 Telephone drop, and 1 Coax cable drop in each room of the house. Living room will have additional drops for entertainment devices. All drops will be patched in the utility closet.

Setting up the boxes for the pulls. I wish I bought an extra one for the telephone drop. Would've saved a lot of time!

Much needed tools to complete the project...

All the runs merged through the utility closet. Using a 4" dryer vent tube to pass the wires through. Also, since the studs aren't spaced 16" apart, I had to secure two 2x6 boards across three studs for mounting the wall mounted rack.

Here's the wall mount rack assembled on the floor. This has reinforced side beams to handle the extra weight of the UPS device.

Yes, I even have my sun room wired up for Ethernet. I figured if there's ever a need to put some device in here that only has Ethernet at least its pre-wired. Debating on installing an outdoor wireless access point in here too so my back yard can have wireless signal.

Does anyone know if they sell gray colored 2 outlet plates for Ethernet jacks?

So in prep for the network tech, I also wanted to redo my office. Here is the work I did...

Wired a 20A outlet for my UPS...

Received my Ubiquiti USG and Tripp Lite 16port PDU

PDU allows individual outlet switching. I can power on and/or off each outlet from the web based control panel. Great for hard rebooting a stubborn server.
