uhhhhh why does mine not say yosemite?

****EDIT*** SOLUTION FOUND---- I ended up googling it and found that the latest update had something to do with it. If you're looking to fix it just change your language in "settings" and it should go back. For example I changed English to English (Canadian) or (UK) and it fixed itself

Customizing complete. Haswell-E i7-5820K Hackintosh. Everything important up and running. Even have working speed step.

Here is mine :) I tried to give a chance at Yosemite but I immediately downgraded to Mountain Lion.I'm gonna stick with that for a while until i put an SSD.

Just added 2 x 4GB ECC 1066Mhz stick of RAM from memoryx to bump it from 8GB.

Here are the machines currently on my desk.

The 2007 iMac doesn't really have a 700 MHz CPU. It is the model that shipped with the "Santa Rosa / Merom" CPU, I upgraded it to a "Penryn" 2.6 GHz CPU. It runs just fine, and when I boot in to Windows, the CPU is recognized properly. But OS X shows it as 700 MHz for some reason. (Benchmarks show it is running at full speed - I can play 1080p video just fine.)

The three non-Yosemite are:
MacBook Pro (early 2006 - ordered the day it was announced, restored to its original OS 10.4.)
PowerBook G4 (15", late 2002 Titanium, running 10.5)
PowerBook G4 (12", early 2003 Aluminum - restored to its original OS 10.2. This was the first Mac I ever bought brand new.)

Never thought I'd see Yosemite running on a 700 MHz CPU :D Speaking of 10.2.8, from one of my Sawtooths:

Edit: As far as I know this is the latest OS that has ever been installed on it. It also has 9.2.1.

Here's one from the computer I'm using to browse the net(or at least Macrumors) this evening.

I'm using internet sharing on my G4 Quicksilver(which I'm typing my dissertation on) to get an ethernet connection over to this computer. It has a 10/100 card, which makes page loads a bit faster than using the onboard 10baseT ethernet.

Overall, this isn't a bad internet browsing system-it's actually surprisingly responsive provided I don't ask too much of it(or try to watch a Youtube video).

Yeah, that was back in the day when performance was the #1 priority.
a fresh install of 10.6.8 needs about 500MB of ram and the Activity Monitor is almost empty when you boot up. :)
