I plan on getting a 13 inch MacBook pro as a second notebook for travelling. Which would be best for that?

I'd say the cheapest for a traveling one. The only factor might be if you want to store lots of video media for the trip. Personally, I'd use a portable hard drive for that.

Or a fat SD card which you can permanently put in the SD slot.
