1.66 Core Duo, Integrated Graphics, 40Gb, 512MB $1299
1.83 Core Duo, Integrated Graphics, 60Gb, 512MB $1599
both coming with iSight, MagSafe in the radical new design...

No way for integrated graphics, the iBook currently has Radeon 9550, which is MUCH better than any integrated graphics offering. So including integrated graphics in the Intel iBook would be an obvious downgrade in every respect. The Mac Minis used to have Radeon 9200, which lacked any support for Core Image, and were greatly lacking. That's one reason why Apple was able to justify using Integrated Graphics for the Intel Mac Minis.sixsept said:Just a guess, not necessarily a good one

Voidness said:Edit: I also just wanted to add, the iBook's Radeon 9550 is faster than the Geforce 5200 found in the 12" Powerbook.
vga4life said:Bleagh. That's double the price of a similar-spec windows laptop. Sounds nauseatingly likely.
Mac OS will never survive as a platform without a real <$1000 notebook or <$500 desktop, not when you can get $500 windows laptops or $250 desktops.
California said:What does this mean exactly? I do know that my former 1.42ghz iBook seemed waaay faster than my 12" 1.5ghz Powerbook. But how is the radeon/geforce stuff related to that?

Take the price of the 2 minis and add 400 to any configuration to account for the screen and laptop case. Makes sense if you think about it, doesn't it?

baby duck monge said:That seems way too high. You're talking at least $1600 for this new laptop which is more than a new 12" Powerbook right now. If this were purely a Powerbook replacement I might believe it, but if what we hear it true this is also set to replace the iBook, so that's got to be a no-go.
generik said:What I really hope to see would be a 13" MBP. It will be the perfect lappie for me...
