Some Intel Macs! (And yes, I hate XP)

Ooh, Vista and MCE. Fancy.

MCE on a 17" screen seems kind of silly, though, doesn't it? That's why I always thought putting Front Row on the iMac first was a weird decision.

Unfortunately both MCE and Front Row are dog slow for working with. If either provided an actually instant access to my music, videos and photos then I'd use them a lot. And heck, if MCE gave me TV tuning I wouldn't be complaining about a 17" screen ;) And it's higher res than most TVs, naturally - plus I'd have to put on my glasses to see the TV over my MBP screen unless I was right next to it.

Vista is quite nice, but doesn't play Half Life 2 for me, so it's back to that game loader "XP" for now :)

Thanks. Yeah, I've been pretty impressed with it. I bought it without ever having seen one in the metal so I was a bit nervous but I'd probably say it's still worth it.

Dell is the only PC maker I ever buy from.

This must have made all your PC using friends just as envious as mine. Only they see my Mac mini. Yours probably never even saw any Mac back in "the day".

The parts for my Core 2 Duo E6600 machine running XP Pro x64 and Vista 64 bit RC1 will be in tomorrow. I will post some pics of it Tuesday. I have had a bad run of bad exeriences with mac hardware in the last few years so I'm going to sit back and wait for the MacBook or MacBook Pro to become more mature... then maybe I will take the plunge again. Besides, for what I do (gaming, browsing the web -no porn haha-, iTunes and IMing) I don't really need OSX anyways... I just like how purty it looks ;)

Here's my Windows setup:

[null]

At first, I was very opposed to my parents getting a Mac as the family computer. Nowadays, I can't use Windows: I'm a devout Mac user.
Total turnaround time: 3 years, 4 months.
