I'm a new iBook G4 owner and would like to know the best way to protect my computer from attack from viruses, bugs, spyware and all manor of nasty things ?

What advise would you give me and how would I implement it ?

Thanks, Jake

Still here.
Step 1: Buy a Mac.
Step 2: Enjoy.

Sounds like you've already completed Step 1. ;)

Run Software Update every now and then to make sure you are up to date with Apple's Security Update's and that's all you really need to be concerned with. To run Software Update, click the Apple menu (left side of menubar), then click Software Update.

You're fine. Don't worry about it. Viruses, spyware and the such don't exitst for Macs.

What the others said, you don't need any anti-virus or anti-spyware on a Mac (yet). Just keep the OS up to date, and check on some Mac news sites every once in a while. That'll let you know if we do start having virus or spyware problems.
