Hello all,

I am living in Japan and needing to use Japanese fonts. Everytime i try to type in Japanese in Safari it totally jumbles it up and its NEVER readable by the recipient. Does anyone know why? Mozilla Firefox does the same and MS Explorer is just crap for it in the first instance.

Is there any way of curing this problem? do i need to install a language pack for safari? It needs to be readable by both Mac and Windows although so far even emailing it to myself i cannot read it after typing in japanese, the input shows japanese characters although upon sending it changes it completely.

HELP ME SOMEONE! frustration galore

Kind regards

Greetings from Kyoto. :D

This is an easy fix.

Check the screen grab I posted.

From the Safari Menu bar, open the "View" Menu, and select "Text Encoding".
There are several different kinds of text used with japanese sites, some use unicode, most are compatible with Shift JIS, but you may need to try different ones to get it to come out right.

Japanese input can be done by changing your Prefs in "International". Hope this works!
