Picture of the day...

My post yesterday got me thinking about some better pictures, I like this one.
Its the edge of one of the hot pools in Yellowstone.
The wood in the bottom right is a handrail, so its about 3-4feet down (~1m) to the yellow ground.
The bottom left edge of the water was over 10ft deep (3-4m) but hard to tell as it curved back underneath. As the ground progressed upper right, it got rapidly shallower, until it was about a foot deep in the upper right.
The whole width of the shot is about 5 feet if I remember correctly.

are you sure its not 800, I didnt even know 5800 was possible... that could light up the night

That's pretty neat. Looks kinda like a satellite image of a coastline.

Congaree swamp...working on posting size.

Slow day!! I'll post mine for tomorrow a bit early. I really liked how this series came out. I'll post more over the next few days.

Ok, I know this is a great shot, and the colors are beautiful and all...
But all I keep thinking is

PUNK SHEEP!

Because they have blue and red dyed hair (wool) and because of Minor threat's "Sheep Punk".

Its an old HP Photosmart 912

Specs: Variable ISO sensitivity of 25, 50, 100, 200 or 400

I am pretty sure the EXIF is wrong, I had another one that said it was 6400.

Cats? OK...

This sleepy guy was hanging out on a 5 foot high wall in Key West on a very hot and muggy day.

Rockwall and Crow


The first precipitation in months brought out some color. The bird was sychronicity; I saw it coming as I framed and snapped at the right moment.

Taken with sony a100 and kit lens last summer.

That is a wonderful shot. Terrific mastery of lighting and shadows.
