give your local resellers a try, but i'd think craigslist is probably your best bet. welovemacs.com and mac-pro.com may have what you need as well.

i think craigslist and ebay would be your best bets. if you're going to go through craigslist, sellers always seem willing to negotiate a lower price if you push hard enough. also, you can ask to see the unit before making a final decision on purchasing; you can't do that on ebay. if you buy through ebay, however, just have a bit of patience. you're bound to find a deal somewhere.

Depending on what you're looking for, you can get a 233 MHz Rev. A/B iMac for $30 or so, and the sky's pretty much the limit beyond that basic pricepoint. Some of the used systems cost almost/just as much as newer systems, so shop around for the best deal. I know, earth-shattering advice!

I've had good luck in the past in dealing with PowerMax. In addition to delivering excactly what is described, they offer a limited warranty on their products. On newer machines, or refurbs, they tend to offer an AppleCare (or AppleCare-esque) warranty plan which is a major plus for dealing with a used product.

lowendmac.com's google group swap listing for used mac and parts. Probably a bit to old but one can find some nice things such as a Apple QuickTake 150 digital camera for sale $15

If you're looking for a G4 Mac Mini or a G5 iMac or a PowerMac, I'd look in the Apple Refurb store. Pretty good prices, a one year warranty, and the chance for an upgrade!

I've purchased a number of machines from Small Dog dating back to my Titanium G4 PowerBook. The folks there have been great. I know Mac writer Charles Moore has had good luck with the 17" Powerbook he bought from TekRestore.
