I had recently lost my wireless connection and took the back off my G5 to see if the airport card had come loose. It was OK though and I went to replace the cover and I cant get it back on.

It does go on as such but the little brackets at the top wont click abck into place properly so there's a gap at the top of the unit.

Should the brackets slip in easily or is it fiddly? I got it back on easily enough before when I installed my airport card first time round.

However, now I'm wondering if I didnt have i on properly at all from last time as the fans have been quite noisy lately. I'm assuming a gap would have upset the airflow/cooling system which could have made the fans noisy.

There is no visible damage to the inside of the machine though.

has anyone else had any trouble replacing the back cover? Is it supposed to be tricky or easy? If it's supposed to be easy then I fear there is something wrong. Any help appreciated.

Thanks in advance guys.
