Oh wow- this thread might make me cry. My first car was a 1983 Dodge 400 convertible. It was a fantastic car. I smashed it in an accident when it was over 13 years old. I sat on the curb and cried while the police who showed up comforted me. :( That thing was my baby.

My first car was a 1996 Chevrolet Corsica. I hated that car. I felt it was an "old person" car.

Now I drive a Civic Sedan.

Behold...the Corsica!!! (Not mine...just a stock shot...)

1. 1985 Mitsubishi pickup
2. 1991 Honda Accord
3. 1990 Nissan Pathfinder
4. 1992 Honda Accord
5. 1987 Honda Civic

currently have
6. 1990 Toyota Pickup (for sale)
7. 1976 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40
8. 1997 Toyota 4Runner (for sale)
9. 1990 Lincoln Town Car (for sale)
10. 2001 Honda Civic

very true. i had always wanted a civic, and now that i finally have one, i've never been happier. reliable, great mileage, fun, safe, and they go forever! i think a used civic would be a great first car...and you can count on keeping it for a long time! :)

mine was a hand-me-down.

a 88 Toyota Celica.
dark blue.
with duct tape holding the right side blinker in place.
and holding the antenna up too. probably had some more here and there too
the pop-up lights would get stuck sometimes too.

after a year of that, or so. i bought my own.
a 87 Ford Crown Victoria LTD.
boat of a car.

"White Gold" 1998 Land Rover Discovery LSE Edition named "Nigel" with 88,000 miles on it originally. I've had it since March I think and I love it.

my first car was a new '98 mazda protege she treated me wonderfully until the ac broke in 2005 at about 105,000 miles. Rather than fixing it, I sold her and bought my '05 prius. She has treated me tremendously.

Uh-oh. There's goes my pre-lunch productivity. I don't have a [digitized] picture of it, but my first car was a 1968 VW Super Beetle coupe. I bought it for $500, crashed it the day the shuttle Challenger blew up (totalling the local baptist ministers Chevy Citation), stranded it in a seaweed bed in the Northumberland Straight at low tide, lost a wheel while barreling down the Trans-Canada in February, drove though speed traps with the needle buried, but wasn't stopped because the cops didn't believe their radar (they told me this in town the next week), replaced the battery, and sold it for $500.

Not actual car.

197X Chevy Blazer. Blue with white panel. I used a boat cushion in the seat so I could see over the steering wheel.

meh, that's a Suburban. Oh, well, think of it with two less doors.

Then, when I got to college, for some reason, my father thought I liked this:

It didn't look that good, believe me.

My first car was a 1987 Mazda 323 which looked something like this:

Previon-89Mazda323.jpg

Except it was light blue, and a huge P.O.S.

In 1998 I bought this:

And I still drive it.
