I'm going off to school next year and I was looking at buying a bag to hold my laptop. The problem is that I am looking at buying a 15" laptop when the revision comes out and don't want to be put out if i get the bag and a 15.4" laptop doesn't fit. I was wondering how realistic the rumors of a 15.4" powerbook was when the next revision comes.
Thanks,
Steve

is the fit really that snug? the difference will be virtually negligible. anyway, what kind of bag are you thinking of getting?

My quess is that it will be whatever fits the widescreen format: I'm thinking a 12" stretched to widescreen. That would be 1228x768 at 96 dpi gives you a screen of about 15".

Unless the bag is fit perfectly tight for a the 15" notebook, and that only, I say you should be okay with a 15"bag, even if it is updated to a 15.4" notebook.

The difference in .4 inches will be negligible. If current 15" PowerBook fits in that case, newer model will fit too.

why don't you wait until you get the laptop before you buy the bag?

Actually the current PBs are 15.2 so your only talking a 10th of an inch on each side. In all likelyhood the physical size of the PB won't change there is plenty of room around the edge of the current display.

Bag or no bag?

In all likelihood, when the updated 15" comes out, it will not ship immediately(It is not sure, but it is a good bet). So if you order your bag when the new 15" is announced, you should get both the bag and the laptop around the same time...
