Hey everyone!

My buddy has a PowerBook G4 and would like to upgrade his internal hard drive. What is the largest drive that would be compatible with his PowerBook? Someone recommended the " Seagate Momentus 5400.3 ST9160821AS 160GB 5400 RPM 8MB Cache Serial ATA150 Notebook Hard Drive - OEM" but I'm not sure if it's compatible.

Also, is there any good step by step guides to changing the internal HD in a PowerBook G4? Thanks!

Surprisingly, swapping the HD out isn't that hard on an alu PB. (On an iBook G3--another story!) I was able to do it in fairly short order--just make sure you have all the tools that iFixit recommends. And go slowly! As the saying goes, "make haste slowly..."

One thing I do that helps make sure everything goes back to precisely the same spot is to tape the screws etc. to a piece of paper with the step # written next to it, and arranging them in the order I removed them.
