She made music, not sauce.
She came to the U.S.A. from Cuba back in the 1960s and brought new attention to Salsa music.
Brain tumors are nasty things but she lived quite a long life and recently appeared in a Dr. Pepper advert with Thalía.
Where's the creative world going without all these legends?
An entire post that is missin only her name: Celia Cruz
Yes, she was is a leyend now, she would be the equivalent to Samis Davis Jr or something like that. She made it in the US.
The histry goes like that, when she was young she was singing with a group called "La Sonora Matansera"(The Sounding Killer), she left Cuba with the band and made it trying to scape from the regime, she was very popular in Cuba by the time and Fidel Castro made her a traitor to the nation. Any way, she started to work in the US singing until her last days.
She was a pioneer of the old salsa style, the old an original school. Last week a good friend and famus Cuban musician died in Cuba too, his name was Compay Segundo. They where writing songs to each other during all this years but without see each other actually.
We have to keep those peoples works a live.
