You do get used to it though.
And i've got used to my brand new iMac locking up half a dozen times a day. Doesn't mean its right, nor acceptable however.
The screen isn't great, but on the scale of things, thats the very least of my worries with these latest iMacs.
I've lost count of the hours i've put in to try and resolve the problems i've had with 2 of these iMacs now. I feel like i've been doing Apples beta testing for them, and paid them for the privilege. It certainly doesn't look like they did much testing of these iMacs themselves.. Cost cutting I guess.
AppleCare claim not to know about the problems and Apple as a whole are not fessing up either. And after 6+ weeks, that is just plain wrong.
I emailed Apple executive relations on monday to let them know that my 2nd iMac is just as crap as the first one. No reply. Called them today, and no one is in to take my call, and currently my call has not been returned. I've been quite polite with them too. But that could be about to end today as im all out of patience now.
Sorry to put a downer on things.. I've been a Mac user for 15 years or so, and generally been a fan and pretty happy with all that I bought. But this is my worst Apple experience yet, by a long long shot. Plus I cant really just put this whole thing down to bad luck, when Apples own discussion forums have an alarmingly large number of similar reports to mine.
I pretty much dont care anymore if the fault is hardware or software. It doesnt matter if the thing doesnt work properly. Either way, only Apple can fix it, and they are taking way too long.
I will try to get a refund in full, and maybe purchase again when Apple decides to build them properly.
