Bus Speed: 667 MHz
MAC OSX 10.4.11
I am having trouble with my ping speed and cannot figure out what to do in order to improve it. My ISP is with Comcast and my speeds are well in excess of 3mb in downloads and about 1.5 mb in uploads from all states.
I have XP installed on my IMAC using bootcamp.
My web browsing is perfect and only notice issues with my connection when playing online games.
I use both airport and a cat5 connected to a 5 user router downstairs. The problem is persistant even when I am the only computer using internet.
The problem becomes apparent when playing online games.
Regardless... this post is in reference to another game , when attempting to play SECOND LIFE, I freeze due to my excess in PING speeds, according to the game, in excess of 600 ms according to the game.
What can I do... I feel that if I resolve this issue with my mac game, it will also help to resolve th ping connectivity issue with my XP OS gaming issue.
Please note I have no computer terminology literacy, as you may tell from the details listed above, but I am proficient with computers in general.
Please help me to fix my PING speeds... I am more proficient with PC's and a am a fairly new MAC user, where do I start?
THANKS
BEST REGARDS.

For example, when logged on to the XP OS and playing battlefield2, I receive a "you have a problem with your conection" that prevents me from playing... notice this only started happenning with the new patch, so I am thinking it is an increase in bandwitdh speed or an improvments in connectivity standards that may cause the issue.
