Greetings and Happy New Year.

Anyone know how to turn off, or at least lower the volume, of the 'DONNNNGGG' that signifies the start of the OS when the power comes on? I'm using Leopard on a new 2.8iMac. It's a bit annoying.

Thanks in advance.;)

The doooong sound depends on the system volume when you last shut it off. So if you don't want to hear the sound when you boot up you need to mute the system volume before you shut down.

Oooohhhh!;)

Too bad there's no DUH button like there is an Easy button for Staples or Circuit City or whoever has that damn thing....!

Thanks.
