Hey Guys,

I was showing a co-worker that he didn't have to use the sync function with his ipod. He didn't know he could just manually manage his music because he's always used the Sync function.

I myself have never used sync simply because my library is too big for my ipod.

So after I unchecked his sync function, itunes proceeded to delete everything from his ipod. Is that normal?

What was wierder is that I still couldn't manually manage his ipod. I couldn't drag songs from his library to his ipod.

One thing I will say is that his library is stored on an external USB drive that he takes between home and work.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

Thanks!

You have to check the "Manually manage music and videos" checkbox in the Summary tab in iTunes when the iPod is connected to your computer.

Thank you "my friend"

I'll tell him to check that, though I was pretty sure it was checked already.

It's nice when someone actually gets it.
