Powerbook Noises?

I have the last model of the 12" powerbook G4. Recently almost everytime I place the laptop down on a table and it's not placed with the utmost softness the computer makes the same sound a CD does coming from the drive even though no CD is loaded. Is my laptop just showing its age or is it something more serious where I should worry about my HD.

My AppleCare just expired in January 2008.
