iMac a little slow. Safari REALLY slow

Ok my imac has been running a little slow lately. My safari is really slow. not my isp just safari. When i load it, it seems to always get the pinwheel for 5-10 seconds then loads then sometimes the pinwheel again. my imac is a little slow as well when i load programs. i still have plenty of HD space. any thoughts? :apple:

been away from my mac for a few, when using firefox its lightyears faster. i know some think firefox is better anyway, i just want to know why my safari is laggin. ive only installed a couple game demos and small games. thats it. but ive had those for awhile now.

First, have you been running Software Update, and are you up to date?

If you are running OS 10.5, be sure try defragging your Safari cache as described in this post:
