I sure hope there'll be more than just a black beveled edge that sets the MBP apart from the MB.
The designs shown for the MacBook and MacBook Pro seem reasonable enough at first sight, but having Tiger on the screen seems to put the lie to the whole thing.

Also, if the page with the computers pictured is part of a pre-set-up for advertising materials as it seems to imply, why does it have a picture of an "old" RAID array and an "old" (current) model Mac Mini?

at a glance....
Apple never advertise the release dates of software (i.e. iTunes 8).
Macbook Pro keyboard looks ugly.
Macbook Pro is photoshopped.
Its running Tiger, not Leopard...
"Pure Beauty, Pure Power" is photoshopped over another caption.
'Aluminium' is spelled correctly.

I could go on.....

Oh yeah, wtf? I thought there was something wrong at first glance, but that is clearly edited. Well, we will see what goes down, hopefully in June.

It's bull**** cause if the new consumer MacBook is aluminum (which it will be) its keyboard will be white (i.e. not backlit). The Pro MacBooks will be the only ones black keyboards.

The "pure power" picture with the black bezel is different from the picture of the MBP shown with the iMac and Mac Pro, etc. And by looking at the speakers and size, it's clearly not the macbook in the second picture. While I think these are just mockups, the black bezel is ugly and the one without it is nice looking in my opinion. And of course that's my opinion, because the second one is nearly identical to the mockup I keep posting here.

Interesting. Perhaps some web development mockups that weren't supposed to be in the wild. Which could also mean that these aren't final, just that this is the info that the developers were given to work with (and if some of the stuff is six months old, say, that could explain the Tiger background -- no sense updating that until everything else is final).

Hmmm.

Need a bigger picture and different angles to justify my mind whether I like them or not.

Still, why would Apple be updating their website 8 weeks in advance..?

looks legit, but something feels wrong about several of the images.

Like an above poster said, the iphone looks the same, and the mac mini form factor looks pretty big. if current rumors are true the mac mini won't look like that.

we will see.

This sure is really strange. For an Apple employee to leave that info on .Mac page is fairly unimaginable as that would be immediate grounds for termination and legal woes from Apple. Plus Apple wouldn't have done this purposely as a form of a curve ball since there is no need. The other situation would be that some obtained an employee's user name and password to post pics to their account. Overall it would still interesting to get an update later to see if the page is changed or taken down.

iTunes 8 though. Mmmmmm. :D

Yeah, that is going to be very interesting. What new features could it bring? But besides from the obvious, that iTunes 8 teaser looks like a Photoshop just because of how easy it is to be done. What do you guys all think?

'Aluminium' is spelled correctly.

Why does a correct spelling of a word make you think it is fake?

Regardless, I agree with the other points - especially the Tiger backgrounds. I'm not doubting that Apple is planning a design overhaul for the MacBooks and MacBook Pros and will probably include mutli-touch technology, however I don't think that this is specifically it. My vote for these images is 'fake'.

No iSight in the MBP??

Could you even see it on the promo pics for the new Alu iMac? Just a thought...

Anyway, I'm pretty certain it's quite easy to phake domain information ;)
The Tiger desktops (which are still there in Leopard btw) are a bit of a strange inclusion though... However, if these are genuine, could that have been done on purpose just to f with the rumour community??

[1] They're may going back to the aqua backgrounds because they look nicer.
[2] That MacBook looks like a MacBook Pro with a 13" screen.

I think they may sell one or two of those :D

This is exactly the product many wanted when they introduced the Air, a replacement for the 12" Powerbook G4. And the reason we didn't get it is because because it would be coming 6 months later at prices far cheaper than the 12" Powerbook ever was.

Awesome Apple. It is like they plan this stuff!

My only slight sadness is it looks like there will be no black/silver colour choice — only silver. That said I think a few 12" G4 Powebooks will be getting upgraded to intel MacBooks. :D

No iSight in the MBP??

Yes, but a black camera in a black RIM is invisible from a distance. Think Black MacBook.

Edit: I call fake, for the reasons pointed out — there is too much space either side of the keyboard for a 13" MacBook. Unless it is a 15" MacBook, to replace the 14" iBook!

If they are in fact real, that would be a very tough decision, just because of the simple fact that if by removing them, everyone would know they are real. But if Apple doesn't take them down, the speculation will continue, but then more and more people ill see the pictures, not knowing that they are totally real.
