CPW - now preordering for delivery on the 11th online...

*phew* they're coming they're really coming!!! (maybe!)

K .. my order had moved onto stage 2 and I had an email saying it's going to be dispatched any moment (!) .. called my local CPW and they said 'oh, you can't order online and get it delivered to a store' argggggghhhhhh!!

So I phone CPW national (they are making a HEAP of money on all the 0870 calls we're all making !!) and hold for 15mins .. then get thru to a very nice young (well sounded younger than me anyways!) ..

They're getting all the orders together and they will be sent out overnight to the stores .. they're aiming to get them to the stores more or less in time for opening (I'd assumed it would be with the regular delivery for the day but apparently not) ..

She said the reason that the people in the local store said it wouldnt be coming to them is because they don't know yet! ..

maybe just maybe ..

oh! .. and the tracking thing won't move to stage 3 til this evening when they mass dispatch!

has anyone got a cpw tracking number that works? I have just got off the phone from cpw and they say they are having computer problems the call center can't if look at online orders. They said that all the orders will go out but it may take some time for them to update the tracking numbers, so hopefully tomorrow guys if not Monday as they are sent by city link.

link doesnt work here but I'm trying to not stress about it! lol .. at least I've seen my order move along so even if CPW are paying someone to click a box every few hours so I just 'think' it's moving along at least I'm happy!

Hoping for a tomorrow delivery here (to my local store)

The tracking numbers wont work until late this evening.

It's next day delivery, so they will be sent tonight..

App store is looking good, shocked at the amount of free stuff on there. I reckon it's gonna be a huge success for Apple.

Well pleased! I ordered at 5:30 on Monday, still had the iPhone in my basket from about 12pm. Must have some sort of reservation system because they were out of stock at that time.
 
What the hell is going on.

Ordered 1 0'clock today, got an email straight away saying thank you for ordering we'll be processing it shortly blah blah blah, here is your transaction number.

Not had anything since, transaction number not working on city link website, tried calling the tracking tel number and they keep saying this is the wrong number and to try 0208 896 5400 which is e dead tone!

worst experience ever! CPW are useless!

any ideas anyone, I paid for pre 12 am tomorrow, I don't want it if it doesn't arrive tomorrow am.

what should I do?
 
Quite a few people I know have had their orders cancelled after ordering from CPW today due to stock shortages.

I wouldn't get your hopes up.
 
I ordered today and i have just got my tracking code which doesn't yet work as it hasn't been picked up by city link.

How do I cancel if it doesn't arrive?

There's no mention of a phone number in the email, no link that works or doesn't take me to just the main website.

I'm happy canceling just don't know how.
 
well it's now been almost 6hrs since ordering so I just called 0845 601 0411 - Listed on their contact numbers for orders.

All I was looking for was confirmation the order was on their system, but I was told "it isn't for an iphone is it?", "we have no way of checking them"(!!!!!!!!!!?!!!!!!!)

when I quizzed the guy who would know, he said and i quote "rome wasn't built in a day, you have to be patient"

so basically I could wait in tomorrow to find it doesn't arrive and he also said I can't order it elsewhere as only one unit per person in the uk is allowed so every store will see I've ordered one already and refuse to sell me one, so I'm competely at the mercy of this incompetent bunch of idiots.

but hey, "rome wasn't built in a day was it"

Current Status: These goods have been scanned at the collection branch and are now on route to the delivery branch.

Scheduled Delivery Date: 11/07/08

Please tell me I'm being paranoid when I notice that my "Your iPhone 3G is Coming..." e-mail says "Your new iPhone 3G is now available and will be sent to your chosen delivery address on Friday 11th July", i.e. sent as in dispatched rather than delivered.

My e-mail said the same thing, I think it's just bad wording on their part.

Chill. Just Chill.

I was on stage one (!) up until 11AM today, when an awesome guy recreated the order and instantly whoosh... onto stage 2. Received an email telling me that they were about to dispatch, so I checked the order tracking and it gave me a CityLink tracking number...

This morning it really didn't seem like I would get it tomorrow, but thanks to that guy, it does!

Tracking number doesn't work, but all in good time.

Just check on the CPW's order tracking system for yours.

You'd really think with the utter chaos and confusion that they've caused so far that they'd be double-checking everything they sent out for clarity by now wouldn't you? Still, I suppose they're making a fortune off all those calls to their call centre

But I'm still at stage 2 :(

And when you're all saying you've received your "about to despatch" e-mail, do you mean the one with the subject "Your iPhone 3G is Coming...", or is there another one you get when you go to stage 3?
