AppleTV died.... what next?

I have had my AppleTV since it was first released and have loved every minute of it.... but now my hard drive has died and unfortunately it is out of warranty.

Now I am asking for your advice...

-Should I deal with trying to buy a new hard drive, get a disk image somewhere and go through the whole restore process? (I've kind of started to do this but have been having lots of trouble trying to find a disk image of the install....)
-Should I just buy a new one? Or go for a MacMini?
-Should I wait for Macworld and see what good ol' Steve has in store for us in 2009?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

haha isn't that always the way it works? spring for something and a new one comes out a month later?
