Are they all? Someone posted in another forum that he thought his panel was a Samsung S-PVA panel.

Having not yet seen one in person, I have no way to know...

did he post evidence like this or was it just his/her thought?

I totally agree, no wonder people are flocking to the :apple: stores...
This is amazing news! With this monitor being H-IPS (with one of the newest LG H-IPS panels) and being LED backlit, this monitor is a steal.

Thanks! This has sealed the deal, off the the apple store tomorrow morning!

One last question, does it have a built in fan?

Yes, it does it have a built-in fan (I think), but it's a high quality and low RPM fan that you cannot hear even in a quiet environment...you will only notice that there is a fan when you place you hand under the Apple symbol and you feel a little burst of air.

Sarcasmville.
Big education discount on this in Australia. $250 off from the $1500. That's like 17% off.

Makes it a far more realistic buy for me already :D

Great. I don't do any color sensitive work which would require a high-end panel but at least I won't feel so ripped off.

Now if they would only show up for sale. I don't like ordering something and then having to wait 2-4 weeks to get it.

I think I'm going to wait it another 1-2 more weeks when the apple store has plenty, so that if I do get a defective display (dead/stuck pixels and such) I can just take it right back for a quick swap, instead of trying to score another one.

Argh, I want one so badly. But good deal or not, $800 (edu discount) is $800. Months of groceries! Hundreds of gallons of gasoline! Many shares of underpriced stocks!

But I think its a fair trade for years of led backlit H-IPS eye candy goodness. You can always earn more money but there is only one 24" LED ACD out there for you! :D

Now I am even more pleased that we ordered one of these. Now if they would just ship the darn thing.....

Didn't bother checking. I was too skeer'd that I would accidentally rip a cable or something.

As with stock, I did a swap immediately when I got my first one. They had plenty in stock and it as a small mall store.
