Heading says it all. I bought a 16 GB Black Iphone, but question if I really need the room. I may return it and get the 8 GB version.

Does anyone know how much space a 2 Hour film would take up memory wise? I'll be ripping using Handbreak.

Lastly, I have a light emitting from the left hand side of my Iphone, between where the chrome bezel and screen meet. You can see it in the dark or in low light when the screen is on, and my friend says I should replace it. Thoughts?

Thanks.

Anywhere from 700 MB - 1.5 GB depending on how you set it.

If you're looking to save space, use Handbrakes's iPhone preset and then lower the bit rate by about 200 from whatever it currently is.

Also, make sure you have the newest Handbrake AND the newest VLC player (it uses that when it rips DVDs).

Interesting.

Any ideas about the light emitting from the left hand side?

The Light emitting from the left side is a frequent issue, and if it bothers you you should get it replaced for a new one. Just go to the Apple Store and tell them you got a Light Leak.

IMHO that's too much for a 480x320 movie. You should be able to get it down to 400-700 with reasonable quality.

Especially with an mp4.

Wow... Over a GB? That's unnecessary, IMO. Maybe for your PC... or a good quality video to view on WinMo. But no way on your iPhone/iPod.

This Happend to me as well. You need to replace it. The screen is falling off. I replaced my 5c with a 5s because it got so bad the screen literally came off

Pretty sure OP moved on from this in the seven and a half years since the thread was created.
